Welcome back to our existing families, and welcome to all our new families! We are so pleased you are joining us and hope you will be very happy at Fairlight.
FAIRLIGHT PTA
Fairlight PTA aims to support our school to provide an excellent education and help every child achieve. We want all of our children to thrive and enjoy their school experience! All parents, carers and staff are automatically members of the PTA. If you would like to be more involved (e.g. by joining the committee, organising events or helping with fundraising) then please get in touch – we’d love to hear from you!
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM)
Fairlight PTA will be holding their AGM at school on Monday 30th September at 6pm. At this meeting, we will review our activity over the past year and elect a new committee to take things forward. We will be sharing details very soon of how to submit nominations for Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and general committee member, so please think about whether you might be keen to get involved!
HELPERS NEEDED
We are really proud of our achievements last year – in total we were able to fund requests from school totalling £9,450! This wouldn’t have been possible without all of the amazing parents who were generous with their time and support. We would love to be able to build on our achievements this year, but this will only be possible if we have a team of volunteers we can call on to help – particularly with running events and sales, but also with things like designing materials, printing, and helping us connect with other local organisations. Whatever you can offer – however big or small – we would be so grateful. We understand that life is busy, and people may not always be in a position to help, but if you would be happy to be asked, please email us (address below) and we will add you to our volunteer group.

WAYS YOU CAN SUPPORT THE PTA THIS TERM
HAVE A POST-HOLIDAY CLEAROUT
Following two successful collections last year (which raised more than £400!) we have organised another clothes and shoe collection with Bag2School. This will take place on the morning of Wednesday 18th September. They will come to school to collect unwanted clothes, shoes, handbags, hats, bags, scarves, ties, bras, jewellery, socks and belts. They pay us per kilo so the more and the heavier, the better! We will send out bags and reminders nearer the time.
ASDA REWARDS
Asda have just launched a loyalty scheme to raise money for primary schools! This is an amazing opportunity for Fairlight to raise funds – as well as 0.5% of the value of each shop, Asda will donate £50 as a one-off, and an additional £1 for every customer who chooses us as their school between now and the end of November. Please consider supporting us by setting up a Fairlight cashpot in the Asda Rewards app, using this when you shop at Asda, and asking family and friends to do the same.
EASYFUNDRAISING
