Fairlight PTA aims to support our school to provide an excellent education and help every child achieve. We want all of our children to thrive and enjoy their school experience as much as possible! All parents, carers and staff are automatically members of the PTA. If you would like to be more involved (for example, by organising events or helping with fundraising) then please get in touch – we’d love to hear from you!
Discos
We hope all the children enjoyed their discos a couple of weeks ago. It was lovely to see so many of them smiling, dancing and having fun! THANK YOU so much to Anna – one of our Fairlight parents – for doing such an awesome job in the DJ booth! And huge thanks to everyone else who helped in the run-up and on the day.
Summer fair
It wouldn’t be a proper summer fair without some torrential rain! Luckily we had a couple of hours between downpours and were able to squeeze in some games, stalls and face painting! Thanks to everyone who helped, and everyone who came along. And a special thank you to Mr Whatman’s incredible class members who ran their own cake sale and made nearly £80 – you guys are AWESOME!
More thanks
We would like to say an enormous thank you to Tess and Saul – two of our amazing Fairlight pupils – who donated funds from their book and pom-pom sale to the PTA. We feel so lucky and proud to have such resourceful and thoughtful children in our community, and we really appreciate your donation!
Spending update
As we approach the end of term, we wanted to share some details of what the PTA has been able to fund so far this year. Please see the next page for details. Some of the funds are yet to be spent, but will be used for the purposes outlined over the coming months…
SPENDING SO FAR (MORE TO COME!)
• £100 for each class teacher (£1400 in total) for class resources
• £1570 for sports kits (including £500 from Q Estate Agents)
• £250 for play equipment (funded by Q Estate Agents)
• £500 for books
• £500 for improving the Early Years outdoor space
• £845 for three listening stations with headphones and audiobooks
• £415 for book bags for our new starters in September
• £340 for Numicon packs for new starters (funded by Plus Accounting)
• £200 for forest school start-up supplies
• £840 for geography resources
• £590 for library furniture
• £500 towards swimming transport
• £1500 for events in school next year (to focus on science, enrichment and celebrating diversity)
